About

Danielle DePompei

Danielle is the founder and director of Ashtanga Yoga Lakewood and is also an Ayurvedic Health Councelor.  She was first introduced to Yoga in 2008 and never imagined it would become such an important part of her daily life all these years later.

After years of home practice and self-study, she completed her 200-hour teacher training in 2014 through a yoga studio in Columbus, Ohio. It was during this time that she was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga and the Mysore room—an experience that would change the course of her life. After many years apprenticing under a senior teacher and making several trips to India to study at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute under the guidance of Sharath Jois, Danielle returned to Cleveland in 2018 and began her own Mysore program.

Since then Danielle has accrued over 10,000 hours of continuing education through: the Vedic Institute with Dr. Frawley, The Sarasvati Instititute of Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy with Susan Bass, Yoga Medicine, as well as courses on the Yoga Sutras and Upanishads with Edwin Bryant.  She will always be a student first and continues to make quarterly trips to practice with and recieve guidance from her teacher Angela Jamison at Ashtanga Yoga Ann Arbor, and continues her Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy studies with her Teacher Susan Bass at the Sarasvati Institute.

Danielle’s teaching integrates the depth of Ashtanga Yoga with the wisdom of Ayurveda, offering students a holistic approach to practice both on and off the mat. She is committed to creating a space where students can engage in meaningful self-inquiry, cultivate discipline, and experience personal transformation.

Outside the Shala, Danielle enjoys studying, cooking, trips to the beach and Cleveland Art Museum, local music and fostering connection within her community, family and friends.
